Market Harborough hair salon ghost caught on camera
In 1820 the building served as a courthouse but today it is a salon owned by hairdresser Harry Browns.
“We’ve been aware of an eerie presence in the salon for years but to actually see it on film is very odd,” Mr Browns told UK press who became interested in the story after ghost hunters Ghost UK managed to capture a strange image on camera.
“Some of the girls working here have been quite freaked out by what they’ve seen. Scissors and hairbrushes have gone missing and order sheets have printed out on their own.
“On one occasion a customer saw two people standing by the fireplace wearing old clothing.
“He freaked out when we said no one was there so I decided to get some professionals to investigate.
Ghost UK set up cameras around the ex-courthouse and managed to film what appears to be a white orb either float out from the fireplace or appear in front of it.
The ghostly orb then rushes towards the camera before vanishing overhead. The Sun has a video of the event online.

Kelly Goddard from Ghost UK explained that the ghost may be that of a former prisoner.
“The most interesting part of the night was when we saw what looked like an orb or spirit.
“On the screen it seemed to change shape. We believe the shape could have something to do with what the building was used for in the past.
“Apparently it was used as a court house and criminals used to be hanged in the building’s cellar.
“This could explain the strange orbs and the dip in temperature felt by the staff and customers.”
It may also worth be noting that a graveyard and Cemetery Lodge is less than 5 minutes walk from the ex-courthouse / hairdressers. Google maps shows the front of the cemetery and the hairdresser are essentially on the same road.
The hair salon, part of Browns Hairdressing Group, was opened in 2002 and is managed by Harry Brown and Wendy Lloyd. Appointments can be booked online.
