The Norwich Evening News has published a photograph taken by Andrew Kitt. Could this be the Cinema City Ghost?
The photographer admits he felt chills down his spine has he processed the pictures he took at Norwich’s Cinema City complex.
He told press, “It’s not a hoax. Nothing has been done to that image,” and “The hairs on the back of my neck went up when I first saw it. I’m keeping an open mind. I’m not saying it’s a ghost or anything, but it is certainly strange.”
The picture was taken round about 10.40pm from the steps which over look the courtyard. There’s a door at that location which is used to let kitchen staff in. An easy explanation for the blurry image is simply that someone walked into shot. Mr Kitt, however, is pretty convinced that didn’t happen saying that he’s “near enough 100 per cent sure” that no one used the door while he was taking the pictures.
The area the photograph was taken is does have history. Cinema City and parts of its bar are on the site of some of Norwich’s oldest buildings. Stonework dates back to the 14th century and the site has been in use since the 13th century.
In Pure Spirit
What do you think? Is this a valid ghostly photograph? A photograph of a ghost? Or just another blurry passerby? Do you think the Cinema City Ghost will enter Norwich folklore or be forgotten about by next week?
