]]> This video was taken off St. Pete Beach in Flordia. St. Petersburg/Clearwater is a popular holiday destination and is part of Tampa Bay. Until 1994 the beach was officially called St. Petersburg Beach but the name was changed officially; which makes sense as the city of St. Petersburg is miles to the east.

In the video a surfer is follows along behind a motorboat, riding in the wake and is joined by a pair of dolphins doing exactly the same thing.

]]> This clip is from Werner Herzog’s “Encounters at the End of the World” and include some very rare sounds. Not only are these seal sounds very rare – they’re almost too strange to believe. These underwater sounds of seals sound almost alien or sci-fi like.

]]> Getty is the defacto home for some of the world’s most impressive photography and video.

The video below is their summary of 2011 – a video story that ranges from royal weddings, through to sports and global economic chaos. Getty say that they covered more than 8,000 news events, more than 19,000 sports events and more than 51,000 entertainment events.

Getty makes its money by selling you permission to use their photographs and videos to display in your own projects, in public presentations and even for business pitches. The video below, though, is entirely free to watch and enjoy.

]]> Richard Holland, former editor of Paranormal Magazine, editor of Uncanny UK and author of a number of books on the subject of ghosts and folklore has published a Ghost Finder iPhone App.

The app, called Ghost Finder London, is a gazetteer of haunted locations in London. At £1.99 the app is cheaper than all the books you would otherwise need to buy, in paper or digitally, in order to compile a similar list.

Each of the 300 haunted sites, throughout Central and Greater London, have been plotted on Google Maps and the app ties them in via the phone’s GPS. The database can be searched by keyword or location. Londoners buy the app and wanted to – could use it to find the nearest haunted location to their own homes.

]]> This news footage for the UK but from China appears to show a young boy with very strange eyes. It’s not just that they are blue (like a Westerner, says the reporter) but that they seem to reflect light back like cat eyes. The boy has amazed the medical community because it appears as if he can see in the dark.

]]> It’s the Chinese New Year today. May the Year of the Dragon be a good one for you. Although these two dancing puppets aren’t dragons – they’re Chinese tigers – it’s still a good time to share the video.

The two dancing tigers start of dancing to some traditional Chinese music but that doens’t last long as we see the pair begin to shuffle to Party Rock Anthem.

Not bad, huh? I thought the coordination between the front of the tigers and their back legs was especially impressive.

]]> When is the Chinese New Year in 2012? The Chinese New Year is Monday, 23 January. That’s right. Chinese New Year is today.

There are five different time zones in China. They range from UTC+5 to UTC+8. That means the first parts of China celebrate New Year at about 4pm GMT on Sunday the 22nd.
