The problem is that with most "haunted" buildings the owners or councils will charge an ridiculous price because most groups who want to investigate will sell overpriced tickets to the public. As the founder & leader of a small back street non-profit making team based in the Leigh Lancs i have contacted Turton Towers (Fiona is who i dealt with) and when i explained that we have to pay between ourselves and offered her £300 for an ovenight investigation i was told to "ring back when you have saved up a bit" this stuck up and snotty attitude is typical of there and there really is no need for it. But the confusing thing is the ridiculous price they quoted me was to "cover staff costs" well if the staff are on that amount of money for a night then i want a job there :-) as far as im concerned Fiona can shove Turton Towers where the sun dont shine… You need us more than we need you

Many years ago when St.Georges Hall was being rewired and refurbished, several men had be hired to put fix cables by the old female cells down below the courts. I had met these men and talked to them about their strange experiance. Where they went was so black you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. One man went down the stairs to the old cells to rewire, but while he was down there it became freezing cold. He saw an old woman wearing a leather apron who was pushing a wheelbarrow
full of coal. He had asked her a question and she pointed the way out. The man came back upstairs and said he saw this old woman downstairs. Who was she? Other men told him that no one was downstairs at this time. He was very upset to hear this news. A person familiar to the hall told him that the woman fits the description of 'Black Annie'. She had worked during the Victorian era deliverying coal at the hall, but was hung for a crime. Needless to say, the man worked on other parts of the building and no where near downstairs again.

I believe that the above e-mail fro Davd Stocks is correct and that Ruxton was hung in Strangeways,
Mancester.
I have attended a couple of meeting in the courtroom in the last few months.
It's a very atmospheric room, especially on dark nights !
I also believe that it has not been used as a court since 1986, when the new Magistrates Court
was built and it is as if it has been frozen in time, with 3 black and white photographs, tatty old black bible and 2 witness declarations on the witness box.
The cells are still in tact , each with an iron bed, coarse woollen blanket and toilet, very basic. They are accessed from stone steps from the dock, with a door that leads to Dalton Square.
Do they open it to visitors on Heritage Weekend heli in September ?

We just recentley visited samlesbury Hall, and yes there is definitley a presence of spirits, we picked up on 4 inside the hall a lady to the top of the stairs a little girl a man counting money and a big bloke standing by the earth, when walking my pup Beagle with the ground, she was behaving very strange, she seemed frightened and stressed, and so we had to take her back to the car to calm her down, I would say there are definitley spirits in this area, it was a very strange experience.
