The meaning of being bitten by flying animals in a dream

Dreams in which you are bitten by a flying animal can be complex to decipher but often worth the attempt.

Being bitten is often a suggestion that there is an element of hostility being directed towards you.

However, this element of hostility can be very minor and almost trivial. Dreams in which you are bitten by flying insects or a flying insect often represent those situations where there is a nuisance in your life – either now, or coming – rather than anything more serious or sinister than that.

Feathers in dreams often represent thoughts, hopes, pride but also vanity and false pride. Goose feathers or large white feathers, on the other hand, more often represent wanderlust, foolishness or group conformity.

If you’re bitten by a large white feathered creature in a dream then it suggests the foolish actions of a crowd might cause you problems. The nature of those problems may involve travelling.

Being bitten by a creature that dived from the sky suggests loss and hurt is likely. The action of moving from rooftop to rooftop or house to house is one which suggests divorce or the ending of a relationship.

As is always the case in dreams there are some exceptions. The snake is an animal which often bites in dreams. A flying snake is no different – the feathers suggest thoughts, hopes or pride and the snake itself represents wisdom.

Being bitten by a flying snake (a dream with echoes of Aztec gods) is one which suggests an injection of wisdom but the need for travel too. Such a dream may suggest you will learn something important on your travels, that a traveler will bring you important wisdom or that the wise thing for you to do is to travel.

A bite from a creature which then flew into the sky and out of sight is an unfortunate dream. It can suggest that you will be bothered and upset by the ending of a life. If the biting animal flies into an unknown house then this dream can also suggest the danger of death.

Dream catchers and other methods are sometimes used by people who are dreaming of being biten by flying animals as a way to protect themselves from the possible negative consequences of the dream.

The meaning of places in dreams and their omens

It is common to dream of being in strange or familiar places. When you do you need to consider the meaning of the events in the dream and the significance of the location.

Abbey

Dreaming of an abbey suggests that any troubles that are currently haunting you will soon go away.

Altar

If you dream that you are by an altar it is unlucky. This dream suggests illness and loss. If, however, you decorate the altar in your dream then you will be lucky and happy in love.

Attic

Dreaming of an attic is a dream which foretells the renewal of an important and an old friendship.

Balcony

If you dream of watching from a balcony then this indicates an unexpected success will come your way. If the balcony collapses under you then this dream foretells a quarrel with someone you care about.

Bath

If you dream of yourself in a warm bath then this indicates you are in danger of being too lazy and failing in an important task. If you dream of yourself in a cool or cold bath then this suggests you will succeed and prosper in commerce and retail.

Boat

The meaning of animals in dreams and their omens

Dreams sometimes require careful and microscopic analysis. This list of animals appearing in dreams and what that appearance may mean is based on common interpretations. In particular, if you have a relationship or awareness with one particular deity and that deity is associated or represented by an animal then the appearance of that animal in your dream may have a very different meaning.

Adder

Killing an adder in your dream suggests the end of an undesirable friendship however being bitten by one suggests lies and treachery will come from a false friend.

Alligator

Dreaming of an alligator suggests that someone you know is a false friend and perhaps even an enemy. You will be able to recognise the alligator from their over dramatic displays of friendship.

Ants
