However, it is possible to divine the importance of these numbers through analysis and just as is the case in Pythagorean numerology we should reduce all numbers to a single digital. If you dream of the number 16, add the 1 to the 6 to reach the total of 7.

Which type of karmic debt are you carrying?

- Image by GameWyrd via Flickr
Pythagorean numerology believes in reincarnation. Each reincarnation helps our spiritual self inch closer to a state of higher awareness however in some incarnations we make mistakes and may even commit crimes. These mistakes manifest themselves as karmic debt.
The double digit numbers 13, 14, 16 and 19 represent this karmic debt. They are most important when they manifest in your core numbers and in particular your Life Path, Heart’s Desire, Personality and Birth Day.
Each of the karmic debt numbers has its own special meaning, its own characteristics and each represents its own unique challenge.
Pythagorean numerology often reduces numbers to a single digit so how can these double digit numbers occur? The number 1 is reached by adding 1+0, 2+8 or 3+7 for example. 3+7 totals 10 which in turn becomes 1+0 and 1.
In addition the numbers 1, 4, 5 and 7 can be preceded by certain two digit combinations in order to highlight the karmic debt number. When the number 7 is preceded by the number 16 we count the 16, when the number 5 is preceded by the number 14 we count the 14 and when the number 3 is preceded by the number 13 then we count the 13.
The number 13 in karmic debt
People with carrying the karmic debt of 13 may often feel that for every two steps forward they take one step back. As a result some give up and others succumb to laziness. However, hard work is the watch word of the number 13 and with focus and concentration those burdened by the number will succeed.
The number 14 in karmic debt
This karmic debt is often accrued through overindulgence in previous lives. As a result those burdened by the number may once again fall prey to the temptations of drugs, alcohol, too much food or other heady delights. The watchword of the number 14 is commitment. This karmic debt is overcome by leading an ordered but flexible life.
The number 16 in karmic debt
The number 16 represents revolution, the pulling down of the old establishment in favour of something new. It stands for regeneration as much as it does for destruction. Those burdened by the number 16 will experience this; they will experience a great fall but will regenerate and recover with strength. Humility is essential and the ego is a great weakness.
The number 19 in karmic debt
This karmic debt drives people towards the extremes of independence and sometimes isolation. The challenge faced by those carrying this burden is to open up and except help from others. Lessons are often learnt the hard way by those living with the number 19.
In Pure Spirit
Do you carry any of the karmic debt numbers? What does it mean to you? Do you think one of these numbers might be in play in your life?

Chaldean numerology
‘Chaldean’ is the collective reference to the legends and lore from Babylon, Assyria and Sumer. The 11th dynasty of Babylon (6th century BC) is known as the Chaldean Dynasty.
Chaldean numerology is based around vibrations. Letters can be used to represent sound and these sounds produce vibrations and Chaldean numerology hels us understand the meaning of these vibrations.
Typically with Chaldean numerology the letter mapping of the name is used to reveal life goals, personalities, desires and purpose. Chaldean analysis of birthdates reveal challenges and peaks in a life cycle and destiny.
Chaldean numerology uses the numbers 1 through 8. The number 9 is considered holy and kept seperate from the main system. Letters are assigned to numbers based on their sound or vibration.
- 1 = A, I, J, Q and Y
- 2 = B, K and R
- 3 = C, G, L and S
- 4 = D, M and T
- 5 = E, H, N and X
- 6 = U, V and W
- 7 = O and Z
- 8 = F and P
